The Story Behind Our Privacy DeepTech Startup Launch

The Beginning — It all started with a vision to build privacy technologies to make digital experiences safe for humanity, despite the COVID lockdowns. We first choose Social media as a market to explore, hence the name #TruthShare. We did breakthrough research, filed patents, presented to Ministry of IT, shared our work with some of the social media platforms. But we realized our mistake that the market was far away and too complex.

The Pivot — It struck us that, privacy technologies that we were working on have critical applications across many industry verticals globally. For example, unlocking COVID data while protecting patient privacy. We started building our tech into consumable SaaS, recruited our first team members, got incubated at NCoE — Data Security Council of India, won Aatmanirbhar Bharath challenge, got certified by AWS and became an AWS partner, selected as part of prestigious NASSCOM DeepTech Club, got great global mentors & advisors, started doing demos and PoCs for innovative tech savvy customers and partners. We got lot of insights, connections and guidance on what market needs, but still there was lot of regulatory uncertainty.

The Stealth mode — Finally, JPC submitted its report and draft bill to the parliament in Dec 2021. Not just India’s DPB-21, California’s CPRA and EU’s SCC-21, have amply made the requirements clear now. With key requirements in hand from CISOs & DPOs as well, it was time to get into a huddle and optimize our stealth mode products to meet defined needs.

The Launch — Having built privacy tech products that can help business comply with emerging regulatory requirements, as pioneers and one of the early privacy tech companies, its time to create value for businesses and their customers in India and across the globe.
